0:29 – 16:03 – Eric starts off the show introducing his guest, Belinda Di Giambattista. With 20 years of business experience, she became the Founder and CEO of Choose Your Metric. Belinda has worked with small businesses, senior executives, and even international investors like Moody’s BB&T. Belinda went on to share how she came from a family of entrepreneurs and after growing tired of the corporate world, she decided to take the chance and launch her own company, Butter Beans. She also talked about the difficulties business owners have when knowing the best time to sell and move on from their business. Before the commercial break, Belinda discussed the three main obstacles business owners might face when trying to grow and thrive in their business.

18:33 – 27:58 – Coming back from the break, Eric jumps back into the discussion of the main obstacles that can be keeping business owners from flourishing during this phase of the pandemic. He goes on to mention how the obstacles can be somewhat connected and can keep a business owner in a downward spiral. Belinda mentions that it’s possible that if there are no clear goals or recognition of faults within the leadership, then businesses can fail to recognize what systems need to be re-evaluated, and what particular skills and gaps of knowledge need to be addressed. Before the break Belinda shares some tools for success that can increase sales and revenue.

30:46 – 44:04 – After the break, Eric asks Belinda how she thinks the pandemic has impacted employers or business owner’s approach when trying to expand their business. Belinda saw businesses thrive and fail during the pandemic. The best advice she can offer is diversification. A business can not thrive completely on one segment. Strategically identify and perfect ways to bring in more clients and then transfer those new strategies to new markets.

46:19 – 57:00 – After the break Belinda shared some of her success stories with clients and how they found ways to advance their business from early conceptual stages to sales. She notes that the best way is to make your business or service indispensable to their clients, who often don’t even realize the extent to which they need your product. When clients hesitate to recognize their value, that’s when they tend to spend more money. Towards the end of the show Belinda shows the audience where she can be reached and how to contact her.

About Employment Law Today

Helping Business With Employment Law Issues.

For many business owners, it can be overwhelming to keep up and comply with the federal and state labor and employment laws that govern how they run their business.  With the COVID-19 pandemic, there are new laws and regulations regarding hiring, firing, and workplace practices and protocols — all of which can increase business owners’ anxieties about regaining traction or thriving again.  On my weekly show, we will be discussing the most common employment law related questions and challenges that business owners have been facing in these uncertain times.

The show will have three main goals: (1) to inform businesses about employment law updates, (2) to inspire businesses by giving them the tools to move forward, and (3) to demonstrate how some business owners have overcome their employment law problems, walked through the challenges imposed by this pandemic, and have taken steps to regain traction during the reopening phases of this pandemic.

Our guests will include professionals who advise businesses from an H.R., legal, and financial perspective, along with thriving business owners who will share their experiences and insights into running a successful company while complying with labor and employment law mandates during COVID-19.
